Daniel “DJ” Granville, founder of Level Up Security Solutions LLC, brings more than two decades of distinguished law enforcement and investigative leadership experience to the private sector.
A retired Chief of Narcotics & Intelligence with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, D.J. led and supervised specialized investigative units responsible for complex, high-stakes cases involving organized crime, narcotics trafficking, violent offenses, financial crimes, and computer crimes. Throughout his career, he managed multi-agency task forces, oversaw undercover operations, and directed intelligence-driven investigations that required precision, discretion, and unwavering integrity.
D.J.’s experience extends far beyond traditional policing. He has worked in collaboration with federal agencies including the FBI, DEA, HSI, and ATF, serving on joint task forces and contributing to large-scale investigations that resulted in significant arrests and long-term disruption of criminal networks. His role as a deputized Special Federal Marshal and his involvement in federal initiatives such as Safe Streets and human trafficking enforcement reflect the level of trust and responsibility placed in his leadership.

Known for his ability to lead teams, manage risk, and navigate complex situations, D.J. has conducted countless interviews and interrogations, provided courtroom testimony, and ensured that every investigation met the highest legal and ethical standards. He has also been responsible for administrative leadership, including budget management, grant oversight, and strategic resource allocation for major investigative programs.
Throughout his career, D.J. has been recognized with numerous awards for his service, professionalism, and impact on public safety; including honors from the Bar Association of Erie County and national narcotics enforcement organizations.
Today, D.J. applies that same level of diligence, investigative expertise, and commitment to excellence to help businesses make smarter hiring decisions. His mission is simple: to bring law enforcement-level insight and accountability into the hiring process, so organizations can operate with confidence, reduce risk, and build stronger teams.
While his career has been defined by protecting communities, his focus now is on protecting businesses and the people behind them.
